Writing For Greeting Cards – How to Write a Great Birthday Card

If you are like me you will be terrified by the inside of a birthday card. Knowing what you want to say to the recipient but just not able to start writing and put those feelings and thoughts into words and commit to paper. This article will give you some great ideas for birthday card greetings.

Many cards on the market have extensive verses on the front and inside. You can use hours reading them trying to find just the right verse for the person whom you want to send the card to. Then you find the perfect one and it is all creased and grubby or you cannot find the right sized envelope in the card stand! Maybe you design and make your own cards and consequently you have the complete verse or message to write yourself. Phoenix Trading cards are all blank inside so you just need to choose the design you like, e.g. fire engine, flower basket, cats, dogs, robots, butterflies, fairies and so many more! Some designs do have specific messages on the front like, ‘Happy Anniversary’ or ‘Congratulations on your Engagement’.

So, you’re faced with the inside of a birthday card – what do you write? First you need to think about who the card is for. Is it for a close friend, wife, husband, colleague at work or is it for your daughter or some distant cousin you have never truly met?

Here are some examples to get you started:
