DWP: How to get your assistance payment over Christmas and New Year if it…

Many households in the UK rely on crucial payments from The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) especially over Christmas and New Year.

This period can be an especially expensive time particularly for those who are already facing financial struggle.

Because of this claimants must know when they should expect their payments, some of which will be coming early this year, reports the Daily Record.

The changes will affect those due to receive Universal Credit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and other DWP-delivered payments on certain dates in December and January.

However, for anyone who doesn’t receive these benefits when expected the DWP has announced Jobcentre Plus opening hours will be changing over Christmas and New Year and to make sure people receive their payments.

The DWP has said: “Thanks to changes we made to the rules, they can have the second payment moved to another assessment period. This ensures stability for claimants when receiving their assistance.

“When two monthly payments are received in one assessment period claimants should report it to their work coach.”

Below is everything you need to know about Jobcentre Plus opening hours and DWP or HMRC payments due to be paid between December 24 and January 4.
