Anoria Berry Recipes for Your Health and Pleasure

Anoria berries are at the top of the list when it comes to healthy antioxidant levels. They have more antioxidants than any other fruit. Their antioxidant levels are already above the antioxidants of blueberries, higher than pomegranates, higher than cranberries, higher than acai, grapes, elderberries, and other fruits. Black Anoria berries commonly known as black chokeberries are now known for their high levels of antioxidants and amazing health benefits. The follow are some examples of recipes using Anoria berries. Aronia has an ORAC (oxygen drastic absorptive capacity – a measure of an antioxidant’s strength to neutralize free radicals) value higher than any other food.

The berries can be used to make baked products, jam, syrup, juice, soft spreads, and tea It is used in jelly making, candies, pie and cookie fillings, yogurt, sorbet and flavored milk.

It should be no surprise that opinions differ about what tastes good.

Anoria juice
You can easily make your own Aronia juice using a steamer juicer. The juice is easily mixed with a sweetener such as stevia. The berry’s juice is extremely tart, so the natural juice is best sweetened with stevia. When sweetened it taste like a cross between a blueberry and a blackberry.

Aronia juice and apple juice and can be delicious as a mixed juice. Equal portions of Aronia and apple juice make a healthy mixed juice. You can of course use other juices to mix with Aronia juice.

Aronia Juice from Texas
The recipe for chokeberry juice from Texas
1 qt of chokeberry juice recently juiced with the steam juicer
6 1/2 cups of Country Time lemonade
6 cups of Cain sugar or equivalent amount of stevia
makes 5 gallons

6 cups sugar = 144 packets of stevia or 72 tsp liquid (1 ½ cups) stevia.

Aronia Milk elements:
Milk – 1 cup (Use any non dairy milk for the vegan version)
Chokeberry Juice – 4 tablespoons or as per your taste
Maple Syrup or sweetener of your choice – as per your taste. (I used maple syrup or stevia )
provide: 1 serving

Mix together all elements and serve it. Sweeten to taste

Aronia Bread
• 2 cups Flour
• 1.5 tsp Baking powder
• 3/4 cup of orange juice
• 1 cup one cup of Aronia juice or mature Aronia berries
• 1 Egg
• 1/2 tsp Baking soda
• 1/8 cup olive oil
• 1 cup sugar or ¼ cup liquid stevia
• 1 cup Nuts (optional)
1 cup sugar = 24 packets of stevia or 12 tsp liquid (1/4 cup) stevia

Sift together baking powder, flour, baking soda and salt. Combine egg, olive oil, orange juice, and stevia in a blender. Add Aronia berries & nuts and chop them. Empty this material into the flour combination. Mix by hand until moistened. Grease a 9×5 pan and bake at 350 F for about 60 minutes.

Aronia Juice Jelly
Mixing jam and peanut butter has been found to be a good combination.

4 c. Aroniae berry juice made from mature berries with steam juicer
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 box powdered fruit pectin
6.5 c. sugar or stevia equivalent

Put chokeberry juice into a large pot. Put over high heat, mix in pectin and stir until combination comes to a rolling boil. Stir in stevia. Bring again to a complete rolling boil; then boil hard one minute while stirring. Remove from heat, skim off foam; and fill glass jars to within ¼ inch of the top. Put on lids and rings and let cool 24 hours.

Aronia Juice Chicken Recipe

This chicken recipe is very good and is easy to make. And only takes about 30 minutes. I serve it with brown rice.
• 4 boneless skin-less chicken breasts
• 1 cup of chokeberry juice
• 1cup apple juice
• 1Tbls. olive oil

Brown the chicken in a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil. When the chicken is cooked put in all of the juice at once bringing it to a boil. Watch the chicken carefully at this stage. Let all the juice boil until it becomes thick. When the juice becomes thick stir the chicken around in it.

You can buy pesticide free blueberry and chokeberry plants from a reputable nursery to save money on your berries and be assured that they are pesticide free. We need to be growing more of our own food as an incredibly easy way to sustain health.
